Hotline: Midnight Juggernauts 'Vital Signs'

Hotline repostings: Time to wash off Hotline's a.m. pop attack with some smooth underground electronics from Down Under...

Australian electronic-prog trio Midnight Juggernauts have a new album on the way this summer, and have given us another tease of the goodness to come with a second single, “Vital Signs,” which gets released today via iTunes.

The Jugz’ sophomore album “Crystal Axis” doesn’t drop until May 28, but in the meantime this dope new video shall tide us over. Release details from High Rise PR after the visuals…

An adventure in sheer pop exuberance, ’Vital Signs’ follows the trio’s dramatic lead single 'This New Technology,' both taken from their forthcoming full length album The Crystal Axis (tracklisting & artwork coming soon), set for worldwide digital release on May 28th (siberia records/inertia) and on limited edition vinyl only in the US on June 15th (siberia records/acephale).

Befitting the DIY ethic of their self-owned and operated Siberia label, Midnight Juggernauts again opted to self-produce, with engineer Chris Moore (TV on the Radio, Yeasayer, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars) facilitating. This time, the Aussie trio have created an album that veers from percussive, hypnotic grooves to luxuriant jams, via rich Morricone-esque textural diversions, walls of sound, and 70s AM melodic forks, The Crystal Axis is a 50-minute symphony of synth-rock invention.
