White Lies, BJL highlight FNX Disorientation

More goodness pulled from the Herald Hotline blog: FNX Disorientation 2009 -- Score another cool free-show gold star for FNX Radio 101.7 FM.

The dark UK rock of White Lies, the local indie bounce of Wild Light, the Texas soul revival of Black Joe Lewis and Brooklyn hipsters Matt & Kim headline the alternative rock station’s Disorientation 2009 festival. It’s a week-long slate of shows designed to welcome back the students but is still open to everyone who wants to rock out on the cheap.

While last year’s show was a one-night-stand at the Bank of America Pavilion (Flogging Molly, The Kooks, Alkaline Trio, Does It Offend You Yeah? and Rogue Wave did the honors) FNX has spread the goodness over five nights from Oct. 5 to 9 over at the Lansdowne Pub on Lansdowne Street. There might be some head-to-head combat with the Red Sox playoff schedule, but we’ll worry about that later on.

Thanks to a sweet sponsorship deal with Bud Light, all the shows are free. Hit up fnxradio.com to enter to win, or listen on-air for passes.

The full lineup:
Oct. 5: Dearly Beloved and Wild Light
Oct. 6: Owl City
Oct. 7: Matt & Kim
Oct. 8: White Lies
Oct. 9: Black Joe Lewis and White Rabbits

The FNX website promotes Disorientation as “10 bands, five nights one club,” so expect those middle Tuesday to Thursday shows to add another band each. When they do, you’ll read about it here.
