Britney Spears, Beyonce, Lady Gaga… Passion Pit? Damn straight.
Cambridge’s favorite electro-pop sons have been nominated for “Best Break Through Video” at the MTV 2009 Video Music Awards for “The Reeling.” This year’s VMAs, hosted again by Russell Brand airs Sept. 13 from Radio City Music Hall in New York.
While Beyonce and Lady GaGa dominate the other categories with nine nominations apiece (“Best Video,” “Best Female Video” blah blah blah) Passion Pit head up a fairly hip lot in the “Best Breakthrough Video” category. They’re up against the likes of Gnarls Barkley, Death Cab For Cutie and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, among others.
