NYE2010: Rezolution @ Kells/Privus Lounge

It's all hands on deck on Brighton Avenue for Rezolution at both Privus Lounge and the Kells (sold earlier this week, eh??), where for one night we truly hope no one gets stabbed out front. But it's New Year's Eve, so who the fuck knows what will happen. This is billed as Rave Vs Electro, with the latter going down at Privus in an extension of last year's famed "Fuck 2008" NYE party.

I can't ever support anything involving the clusterfuck den of date rape disease known as the Kells, but here's the bill on the Privus side, which looks a lot like the safer, gentler, don't-need-to-palm-the-rim-of-your-glass-at-all-times side from this vantage point:

House, Electro, Breaks, Techno, Garage -- Providence's DJ Venom leads the charge along with Melee, DJ Parallax, Knowlton Walsh, Domonique and Roguewaves' Justincredible.

Tonight: Winter Wonderland in Allston

Those hanging around glorious Allstone Towne tonight should head over to the Ferry, where my gals in the Sun Lee Sunbeam go all drank-yo'-nogg on us at their Winter Wonderland/Holiday Rock N Roll Extravaganza. Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling and my boyfriend Videodrome keep the seat warm, and of course Le Beam brings their violetpunk indie love-in raucousness to the fire-bred Santa-cap masses. <3s.

What the fuck is that over Norway?

No, seriously, what the fuck is that spirally shit over Norway? Something tells me I'll be disappointed in the explanation (read: it won't have anything to do with aliens or A-Ha).

Lola helps decorate the Christmas Tree

We have the most epic Christmas Tree I've ever seen currently perched within the LTD living room (no to mention the most fun decorating party ever), and it all began with the help of the Lolabear. Our Christmas Tree Ornament Death Toll has stalled at 1, but a (unwinnable) war has been waged against tinsel.

For real though, look at this god damn tree...

New Bloody Beetroots video: "Romborama"

Kinda sorta but not completely a re-post from Hotline: Oh shit, this will wake me the fuck up. Brand new video from Italian electro duo the Bloody Beetroots, and it already hurts. It's a part of a new EP through Dim Mak Records that includes the Steve Aoki collab "Warp" and two other remixes. Deets from the folks at Girlie Action on the entire release after the jump...

THE BLOODY BEETROOTS CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS
WITH CHRISTMAS VENDETTA...
"SPARES OF ROMBORAMA" EP

SIR BOB CORNELIUS RIFO & TANINO LIBERATORE recently released "ROMBORAMA", the highly-anticipated debut album from THE BLOODY BEETROOTS. This is the fusion of two concepts, describing Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo's anarchical musica opera. The album destroys the notion of "musical genre", expanding the meaning of "Music" during a period in which this term is in serious jeopardy. In this collection of twenty original tracks, the only common denominator is "electronic". It is a journey into the mind of Sir Bob, oscillating between techno, punk, classical and baroque, soundtrack for film, house, italo-disco and hip hop.

Along with the release of the Official "ROMBORAMA" Music Video, DIM MAK RECORDS is releasing never before heard tracks from THE BLOODY BEETROOTS' "CHRISTMAS VENDETTA... SPARES OF ROMBORAMA" EP, available now!

CHRISTMAS VENDETTA... SPARES OF ROMBORAMA:
1) "Warp 1977" Feat. Steve Aoki and Bobermann
2) "Talkin' In My Sleep" (Bloody Beetroots Remix)
3) All Leather "Mystery Meat" (Bloody Beetroots Remix)
4) "Romborama" Music Video

Penguin Club tonight for Arctic Cambridge

The weather outside is fit for a penguin (not named Malkin), so it's appropriate that Hump Day brings us the latest edition of the Penguin Club. After having my face melted off by Endless Wave last night at TTs (they is legit), I'm unsure if I'll be river-jumping this evening, but it should be noted that tonight's Penguin Club is a very special "All Vinyl Edition." So go ahead, and be sure to wear those old vinyl pants left over from the ManRay days.

In related news, this Friday the pill is going to be "All Compact Disc Night," spinning all your Britpop and Modern Indie favorites on high-quality pre-millennial CD format. Skip away!

Thursday: DJ set @ Fashionably Late

I'm a last-minute addition to the acclaimed Fashionably Late party this Thursday at the Liberty Hotel, and here is where I'll make the Traktor debut. This is one of the best style parties in Boston, so clearly I'm excited to be a part of all this as Stil unveils some holiday looks. Not on the flyer because it all came together fairly last-minute, but it has the deets you need to know... DJ Michael Savant knows how to bring it.

More from Yes Giantess :: Because they rule

<3 the Internet. Jan from Yes Giantess touched base with VL HQ last night and passed along some fresh-as-a-daisy live footage from their show Dec. 2 with the Ladytron DJs at the Tribeca Grand in NYC. Oh, you know, just another night of domination from the pop-perfection lads in Yes Giantess... Cool shit, check it out below:

NYE2010: Porterhouse FTW @ Flat Top Johnny's

And away we go! Finally some reservation about my Southie art space appearance on New Year's Eve, as leave it to my boy Vadum Rankin to enlist not only the #2 ranked DJ in America in Steve Porter, but offering up reserved pool tables with bottle service. Oh shit, Kendall Square, you haven't looked this nice since that whole Shine debacle.

Yeah sure, it's a pool hall, but clubs on NYE always let you down, and here's something different. This looks dope, Porter in a 180-person room is sardineapalooza, and oh hai, doesn't that flyer make you reminisce about those good ol Circus days... Night Society back FTW.

NYE2010: Cash 4 Gold at the Milky Way

Ok, I'm not even going to pretend I have a jimmyrigging clue what's going on here, but 1) It's called Cash 4 Gold for fuck's sake, and 2) Tony Toni Tone Braxton is something that exists. The Milky Way in JP might as well be on Mars, I still haven't seen the new Brewery space and here's the description from the email I received if you are still reading this:

"DJs Just Joan and Monster Carl will be spinning on all night basked in the glow of a GOLDEN WONDERLAND so as to properly usher in the 2010, the year of the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey. Look no further you have found the fun that you need for your New Year's eve right here. There will be Adidas prize giveaways, special performances, video projections, a special late night snack menu, and LOTS OF PEOPLE DRESSED TO THE GOLDEN HILT. Bizzaou!
