Future-Pop: Lady Gaga announces 2011 gigs
More Hotline, which it still exists: Lady Gaga sold out her worldwide 2010 Monster Ball Tour – including shows at the TD Garden July 1 and 2 – faster than you can say rah-rah-ah-ah-ah, roma, roma-ma Gaga, ooh la la. So naturally the post-millennial Queen of Pop has her sights set on 2011.
Gaga returns to the Hub with another live dance party at the Garden on March 8 of next year, and tickets go on sale this Friday through livenation.com. Hey, it’s never too early to plan ahead, right?
Fun facts: Lady Gaga became the first artist to have his or her music videos reach the one billion view mark, and “Bad Romance” is the most viewed video of all-time on YouTube.com. Hotline alone is responsible for probably three percent of all that nonsense.

Satz: Lady Gaga night @ Dans Le Cafeteria
Hotline repost for the Little Monsters haha: This is a bit of an advanced warning, but we've been saying for ages that Boston is ready for an entire night dedicated to just Lady Gaga -- from a "Fame Monster" dance party to impersonator performances to anything else solely involving the new Queen of Pop. Heck, like other parties, Allston's Videodrome might already be at a 15-percent Gaga level, with the crowd favorites always being "Bad Romance" (still), "Dance in the Dark" and DJ/VJ Craig MacNeil's sterling "Telephone" disco-video remix.
But we want more. This Saturday, it looks like Berklee's Dans Le Cafeteria has stepped up to the task. More details on this as it unfolds, but we're already so there. Not only does it look awesome, but it's also free, bitch.

Videodrome beats up Lady Gaga's 'Telephone'
So yes, I know, we're all psyched as shit for the new Gaga video "Telephone," a remarkable follow up to THE GREATEST SONG AND VIDEO OF ALL TIME, "BAD ROMANCE." But there is just one problem -- you can't dance ALL THE WAY through "Telephone's" mini-movie storyline of lesbianic prison cells, sinister cooking classes and Beyonce Beyonce Beyonce.
Enter DJ/VJ Craig MacNeil of Videodrome Discotheque fame, who supped up the breaks in the song with some Queen "Radio Gaga" (see what he did there) and a bit of "Cruising the Streets," a lost San Francisco hi-NRG early '80s gay disco classic from Boys Town Gang. This joint premiered over the weekend at the VD dance party at CommonGround in Allston. Fucking fierce.

Lady Gaga's impossible task of following up the "Bad Romance" phenomenon has begun. Lesbianism is the new muse, as long as you don't try to take it to a prom in Mississippi. As published in today's Boston Herald, here is my Best of 2k9 "Top 10" list. Big fucking shock as to what sits perched at Number 1 (The only question is where it fits in my "Best of the 2000s" list).
We’re living in the iPod generation, so it’s fitting that 2009 was a year of the individual song. Not many albums held my attention longer than a month, but I can come up with one awesome synthpop-electro-pop-rock playlist:

Lady Gaga is tonight
So yeah, it's tonight. Kinda way too excited, and at the same time kinda weirded out that this shit is everywhere. I've heard grown-ass 60-year-old men say the word "Gaga" about a hundred times in the newsroom today and it sounds dirty. When I saw her in March there was a buzz for sure, but this explosion is downright silly (if not totally warranted). Maybe I'll sell my ticket and pay December's rent...

Two days until Gaga
Yup, no real point to this post, except to say that the Lady Gaga show at the Wang Theatre is in two days (well, the one I have tickets for). Kinda weird that when I returned from Florida post-cruise in March, her show at the House of Blues was the following day (It ruled). Now here I am nine months later, back from holiday, and there's another Gaga show. And life is completely different, in a good way. Wikkid syykked.
And oh hai, still completely obsessed with this. Still the greatest video since My Chemical Romance's "Helena." Deal with it.

Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance"
Saw this over on the BLT, and until now it has apparently skipped by my Gaga spidey senses. So as I deal with the tragedy of Row Q banishment for Lady Gaga's December 2 show at the Wang (Really? Fucking Row Q? What am I, cattle!?! Last time I EVER buy tickets for anything, ever ever ever.) I'll swing the party shuffle strut in the grip of this hodgepodge of pop mediocrity until it grows on me like "Paparazzi" did.
I mean, this isn't terrible, but the "rar rar" shit is kinda a bit much. More of a Russian back-alley show tunes vibe again crossed up with standard future Top 40 dance club fare, but -- oh what the fuck never mind it to hell this rules like everything else this genius does and I'll be singing the Oooh Oooh Oooh shit all the way to Videodrome Discotheque tonight. That "Caught in a Bad Romance" vocal hook has already sodomized my dome piece.

Lady Gaga on-sale: Saturday at 10 a.m.
Tickets to Lady Gaga's two Wang Theatre shows Dec. 1 and 2 go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.. Priced at a very reasonable $43 to $63, it's the steal of the century. That is all, today rules.
