Talked all sorts of ragtime on FNX's "No Nonsense Breakfast" this morning, from discussing upcoming big-ticket releases from MGMT, Vampire Weekend and Hot Chip to picking 2010 breakout contenders like Beach House, Free Energy and Lissy Trullie. Since before her gig at TTs last month, I still haven't gotten Trullie's cover of Hot Chip's "Ready For the Floor" out of my head.
Great song on its own, but she really jazzes the shit out of it with some much needed post-punk treatment, and can't wait to hear what producer Bernard Butler will do for her overall sound on her new album. Fucking love this chick pretty hard.

ReplyDeleteYeah he is. Sales of the "Stay Together" EP have since fallen below the pay-the-cable-bill breaking point. And yes, I name-dropped Bernard Butler on FNX this morning.
ReplyDeletei would be disappointed if you ended up on the radio and didn't name-drop a random britpop icon.
