I hope to get over to GS tonight after the Big Pink gig at the Paradise, as one of my picks for a big 2010, Bearstronaut, releases their new album "Broken Handclaps." I pegged these guys as the next in the Passion Pit dance wave after playing out the track "Wire," but the album proves more of a rock vibe, creeping more into Phoenix-type territory, and I'm curious to see how the synths play out live. So fucking curious, in fact, that they're the first live pill band for the New Year, hitting our party on Jan. 29. I sense this is a band just rounding out their sound.
