From the pill boston dot com (more later this week, but here's advanced warning):
friday october 23:
the Golden Silvers
UK disco-rock trio here on a CMJ holiday
Upon this tidal wave of new dance culture comes London trio the Golden Silvers, who shake the spackle crisp and party with us this Friday at the pill. With just three stateside shows planned this week – the other two are CMJ showcases in New York just before they hit Boston – now’s the time to get hip to the Golden Silvers' explosively melodic 4 a.m. party sound. Standout single “True No. 9 Blues (True Romance)” is already a pill dance floor staple, a tidy disco-fused anthem strut that promises the moon from these cats in 2010. Already recipient of Glastonbury’s 2008 New Talent competition, the online and media buzz is building steadily. Wrote the Guardian UK on debut album “True Romance”: “Flamboyant lyrics, references to Greek myth and big, elastic bass lines dominate.” A perfect mix for our Friday night dance party throw down high atop the Abott Square perch in Allston Rock City. Look sharp.
Get hip and get sorted to the sound of the Golden Silvers over at myspace.com/thegoldensilvers, and do arrive early as to not miss this exclusive performance with us at the pill. Before and after the band, DJs Ken & Michael V spin the best in Britpop, Modern Indie & Beyond. xo
